WHAT I DO
User driven functionality planning and design, leading teams and establishing processes.
Defining and designing user experience architecture for applications, mobile and desktop products.
For a while (10 years) I led IF/THEN, a design studio I co-founded in Seattle. After serving as Creative Director for Deloitte Digital's Seattle office, I joined Microsoft as Design Director for Maps and People teams, and headed the Communications and People family of products as Creative Director. Following this, I led the Mixed Reality Studio Avatars Creative team, UX/VX/Art, expanding identity representation, driving connections between people, work and social experiences in Mixed Reality and traditional contexts.
Currently I lead the Seattle UX/UI team at Sonos as the Senior Design UX Manager.
The Experience Music Project is one of the most famous cultural organizations on the West Coast, best-known for its tasteful preservation of rock culture and promotion of musical creativity. In redesigning the site, the main client direction was to reflect the institution's values and emphasis on creativity.
Starting with an extensive site audit and sitemapping exercise, defining and separating dynamic from static content at site level, leading into wireframing, afforded a clear view of all the dynamic and static elements needed for assembly at page levels.
The site features an accessible homepage that closely integrates all relevant content in one location in a long scroll page. The site features include calendars, maps, ticketing information, as well as a comprehensive guide to upcoming events and exhibits. The distinctive website was well-received by the community and successfully represents the rich musical history of the city.
