User driven functionality, experience design planning, team leadership and process design.
Defining and designing UX/VX architecture for applications, mobile and desktop products.

For a while (10 years) I led IF/THEN, a design studio I co-founded in Seattle. After serving as Creative Director for Deloitte Digital's Seattle office, I joined Microsoft as Design Director for Maps and People teams, and headed the Communications and People family of products as Creative Director. Following this, I led the Mixed Reality Studio Avatars Creative team, UX/VX/Art, expanding identity representation, driving connections between people, work and social experiences in Mixed Reality and traditional contexts.

Currently I lead the Seattle UX/UI team at Sonos as the Senior Design UX Manager.

The Microsoft Office group needed a new, responsive, component reliant showcase website to demonstrate the capabilities of the Office Suite of products in a customer problem context. The need was centered around identifying better storytelling opportunities, aimed at the enterprise audience, and align the case study materials presented in a cohesive, modern, friendly, user tested way.

The project kicked off with a fact finding workshop and a structured information gathering process around goals, audience, concluded research, methodologies and website KPIs. The user intake session was followed by a rapid, multi-solution ideation and sketching and a client co-design workshop. The design was resolved and front-end coded within the Microsoft Web Framework Standards responsive codebase.

I was responsible for leading the pitch, strategy, UX and UI design, user testing and delivering the designed, coded and tested template set. I led and worked along side a talented team of three, one UX, one UI and one developer to deliver the project.

Site traffic improvement (12-15%), bounce rates reduction (from 36% down to 30%) conversion rate improvement (5% lift)
