Defining and designing UX/VX architecture for applications, mobile and desktop products.
For a while (10 years) I led IF/THEN, a design studio I co-founded in Seattle. After serving as Creative Director for Deloitte Digital's Seattle office, I joined Microsoft as Design Director for Maps and People teams, and headed the Communications and People family of products as Creative Director. Following this, I led the Mixed Reality Studio Avatars Creative team, UX/VX/Art, expanding identity representation, driving connections between people, work and social experiences in Mixed Reality and traditional contexts.
Currently I lead the Seattle UX/UI team at Sonos as the Senior Design UX Manager.
When the Microsoft Windows delivered the complete retooling of the desktop experience, they set out the challenge to deliver a website and CRM program that showcases the fact that interacting with technology should be as natural as interacting with people – using voice, pen, gestures and even gaze for the right interaction, in the right way, at the right time. These concepts led the design strategy and implementation of the website and CRM campaign.
Engagement started with prepping for and designing the online presence for the Windows 10 7/29/2015 launch and continued through the launch year, accounting for major calendar scheduled site refresh initiatives. The site spans 66 languages copy and Image localization spread and multiple organization stakeholders.
Additionally, the engagement extended to the companion CRM programs to add support and awareness to for the Win 10 launch during the "Year of the Update". Also driving the creative strategy and execution surrounding key marketing events and associated OEM programs. Included is a small sampling of pages and projects produced.
Strategy, experience + interactive design, qualitative testing strategy, prototyping oversight and production, design and implementation, oversight and management of a creative team of 8, spanning project management, design, user testing, copywriting and development.
Windows10 launch month site + CRM by the numbers: 300M+ visits, 150M+ emails sent with over 40% open rates.
